An Italian-qualified lawyer (avvocato) with experience in copyright, trade marks, fashion and internet laws, I am a tenured Associate Professor in Intellectual Property (IP) Law at Stockholm University.
I am also: a Guest Professor at CEIPI-Université de Strasbourg; a Research Associate and Lecturer at EDHEC Business School; an Associate at the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Law at the University of Cambridge; an Of Counsel at Bird & Bird; and an Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice (Oxford University Press, peer-reviewed).
I have written extensively in the IP field, and my latest monograph – Copyright and the Court of Justice of the European Union (Oxford University Press:2019) – tackles the role, action and legacy of the highest EU judicature’s copyright case law.
I comment on IP issues for award-winning IP blog The IPKat, for which I have authored several hundreds of posts over the past few years, and I am the Co-Founder of Fashion Law London.
I have prepared technical briefings and delivered talks at the request of international organizations and EU institutions and agencies (including WIPO, European Parliament, European Commission, and EUIPO), as well as international professional bodies and organizations (including ALAI, INTA, AIPPI, LIDC, and ECTA).
